Bottom Whorl Emily Spindles Hand-turned by Adam's Woodshop The Emily spindles have approximately a 10" shaft and 3" whorl. They have a "shepherd's crook"-type hook. We named them Emily because the name means "Industrious" and that is just what these little spindles are! They work so well, because they are made so well. Hand turned on the lathe to a perfect balance and complemented by a well-adjusted hook, the understated elegance of the spindle enhances the natural woods and makes this tool a pleasure to use and behold.
