Spinning Cotton on the Charkha

Spinning Cotton on the Charkha, a video produced by New World Textiles, has just been released, and is available in VHS or DVD for $34.95!
The video is a comprehensive hands-on workshop including material from Eileen Hallman's Charkha 101* and Charkha 201** classes. While the Indian book charkha is used in the video, the techniques are appropriate for any spindle wheel, including the great wheel.  Eileen demonstrates teaching techniques that she has developed over the 6 years that she has been teaching on the charkha; she says, "...my students have taught me as much as I have taught them.  I am indebted to them for sharing their struggles and pushing me for ways to solve common problems."

*Charkha 101 Synopsis 
Learn to spin cotton the easy way!  Learn how to tune and maintain the charkha,  how to determine the ratio, and how to spin to specification.  We will also cover cotton types and properties.
