Dye Kits and Samplers

It is our experience that one needs more ammonium sulfate or Pro Dye Activator than what is supplied in the kits.  See the Dyeing Miscellany page to purchase more of either.

Wash Fast Acid Dye, 6 dye sampler
For protein fibers (wool, silk, angora, mohair, alpaca, soy silk, nylon or any other animal or protein fiber).  A favorite for rug hookers spinners, knitters and weavers.  Also known as Nylomine dye.  Use Ammonium Sulfate, Citric Acid Crystals, or White Vinegar to fix the color.  Dyes must be dissolved in boiling water.  Apply at a boil for solid shade dyeing and steam set when printing, hand painting, or rainbow dyeing.  Permanent, washable and lightfast.  All colors are intermixable.  Kit contains enough to dye eight pounds of fiber to medium shade.  Kit includes: Instructions; 1/2 oz synthrapol; 57 gm ammonium sulfate; and 10 gm each of black, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red wash fast acid dye.
