Emily Spindles from Adam's Woodshop [low whorl] [lizzie - emily's little sister] [spindle page]
The Emily spindles have approximately a 10" shaft and 3" whorl. They have a "shepherd's crook"-type hook, and the top whorls are notched at 3 and 9 o'clock. We named them Emily because the name means "Industrious" and that is just what these little spindles are! They work so well, because they are made so well. Hand turned on the lathe to a perfect balance and complemented by a well-adjusted hook, the understated elegance of the spindle enhances the natural woods and makes this tool a pleasure to use and behold. Weights range from 22 to 58 grams. Prices: Please note: We only have one of each spindle pictured here. We update the website frequently to keep this listing current, but you may want to list a second choice in the message area of the cart in case your first choice is already sold.
