The Nina Spindle A 3" rim-weighted whorl hand-turned by Tom Diak from domestic and
exotic hardwoods, a 9" birch stem, and a self-centering custom designed
hook - all lovingly finished with all natural Wood Beams! This is a warm, earthy
spindle. And this is one spindle you needn't fear dropping! Finished with
only Wood Beams, the whorl can be sanded and re-oiled without fear of removing a
fancy finish. Inspired by the Diak's desire to give beginning spinners a
beautiful, well-made, and superbly functioning spindle, the Nina weighs
approximately 1.3 - 2.2 ounces depending on the wood used - a perfect weight

The Swan A symbol of spiritual serenity, the swan has long inspired man in his
artistic endeavors. The Swan spindle by Tom Diak will inspire the spinner
in you! An elegant spindle, the Swan was designed to spin! A
combination of a strong center mass and a rim weighted whorl creates a spindle
that is not only a quick spinner, but a long spinner too! Gracefully
turned by Tom to bring out the beauty of the wood, the Swan is finished only
with all natural Wood Beams. More diminutive than the Nina, the Swan has an 8
inch shaft, a 2.75 inch whorl, and runs between .8 ounce in lacewood and 1.5
ounce in cocobolo. Available woods shown below. $30.00 each
