Cotton Punis, ready for spinning into yarn. Approximately 3 ounces of fiber. Rolags are 7″ long.
Current stock is wrapped in orange paper, not newsprint as in the picture.
Cotton punis are made by taking cotton fiber, wrapped it tightly around a dowel, then pushing it off, making a very tight rolag. This is the traditional cotton preparation for Indian spinners, be it on their tahkli or charaka. Spin with your wheel, tahkli or charaka.
