Description
These handheld felting boards will speed up your felting process.
The pronounced, deep groove construction distributes water by channeling it more evenly and creates extra friction for faster felting. It works like a dream in any direction and functions great for most stages of the wet felting process.
Available in Small or Large.
The Large Flash Felter is handmade from 100% recycled post consumer waste. Approximately 11″ long, 5.5″ wide.
The Small Flash Felter is handmade from 100% recycled post consumer waste. This makes it lighter, with a smoother surface grid then the wooden version. Approximately 5.5″ long and 4.5″ wide.
Directions: Saturate wool with hot, soapy water. Smooth the FlashFelter over the surface in any direction, gently at first, then more aggressively.

Pros — This tool is light and the handle is easy to grip. The “bumps” on the working side are deep enough for fulling thin to medium layers of fiber efficiently. The workmanship is good and the price is quite fair.
Con — The surface finish of the bumpy side needs to be much smoother. As it is now, the tool functions fine with light pressure for the first stage of felting, but a felting tool with deeper bumps like this one has should also allow the felt maker to work firmly and deeply into the fiber. This particular tool doesn’t glide smoothly enough to allow this to happen.
Overall — I want to like this tool. If the surface finish was smoother, it would be very handy and extremely useful.
