The Strauch Teasing Tool is used to open locks and matted tips prior to carding. Larger than a flicker, you can prepare fiber faster with the Teasing Tool.
Where this tool really shines is in the ability to clamp it to a work surface. Attach this to a table or bench near where you are carding. As you are loading the locks on your handcards or drumcarder, you can quickly open the ends, and remove matted or weak tips with a simple flick and tug. Having it clamped down allows you to tease locks with just one hand!
An included “C” clamp attaches the tool to a work surface freeing both hands to handle the fiber. The maple base measures 6-1/2″ long x 6″ wide. The available area for doing the fiber preparation is 3″ long x 5″ wide, and is covered in 112psi cloth.
