THE
SHEEP BOOK, A Handbook for the Modern Shepherd, Ron Parker. This comprehensive guide to raising and maintaining
sheep has been in print since 1983, and reprinted with revisions and additions
in 2001. It came to my attention when I searched for books to use while
mentoring a young spinner who wants to raise her own sheep. Whether you have one
new lamb or a huge flock, I'm convinced that a responsible shepherd of any
age--one who is 12 or 60--would want a thorough yet undaunting reference. This
is that book. Other books may be prettier to look at, but this is technical,
practical, friendly and sometimes even humorous. An indespensible guide.ISBN:0804010323. 6" x 9" softcover. $24.95

is an excellent book to get you started on spinning, or, if you already spin on
a wheel, to get you started on portable, versatile hand spindles. 80
pages, black and white photos and diagrams. Sc, $14.00 #139167
