Flickers

Flick carders are designed for opening individual locks for spinning. Flickers prepare the fibers well for short forward draw/worsted style spinning, for strong and smooth yarns, when spun from the end of the lock. Alternately, you can fold the flicked lock and spin from the fold, which lends itself to long draw/woolen style spinning, for loftier and airier yarns.
