Belt Shuttles
Short stick shuttles with one beveled edge for packing in the weft on warp-faced weaves.  Perfect to use with Inkle looms, and for weaving belts and straps.

Schacht Boat Shuttles

Schacht boat shuttles are beautifully shaped and well balanced. They are sanded smooth and then given a hand-rubbed Danish oil finish.  Four sizes are available: 9", 11", 13", and 15". Their smallest boat shuttle, the 9" mini, is styled after a Japanese silk shuttle. This duck-nosed shuttle is wonderful for narrow widths and fine yarns. The most popular boat shuttle, the 11" boat shuttle, is offered in slim and regular models with closed-bottom and open-bottom styles. The two largest boat shuttles are 13" and 15" long, and can handle fine to medium weight yarns. Because of their extra length and yarn capacity, weavers often choose these shuttles for wider weaving widths.  All boat shuttles are available in hard maple and some models are also available in cherry.

Schacht Double Bobbin Shuttle

Schacht also makes slim and regular double-bobbin boat shuttles which are ideal for doubled weft threads. Two separate bobbin shafts make it possible to remove one bobbin at a time.  Made of hard maple with a Danish oil finish.  Holds two 4" bobbins.  Length is15 1/4".

Schacht Boat Shuttle Bobbins
These plastic bobbins come in three sizes.  The 4" bobbins fit the 9" mini, the 11" shuttles, and both double-bobbin boat shuttles; the 5" bobbins fit the 13" shuttles; and the 6" bobbins fit the 15" shuttles. The bobbins have specially designed ends for trouble-free release of yarn.

Schacht End-Delivery Shuttles
The Schacht End-Delivery shuttles are the ultimate in shuttles designed especially and precisely for handweavers.  They are lightweight, comfortable to throw and catch, adjustable to a variety of yarns, and easy-really easy-to thread.  The end-delivery shuttles are available in 12" and 15" sizes.

End-delivery shuttles use pirns.  The 12" shuttle takes the red 6" pirn, and the 15" shuttle uses the black 8" pirn (see below).

Schacht Weaving Swords

Made of hard maple with a Danish oil finish. Schacht weaving swords are designed for Navajo weaving and lend themselves well to other simple tapestry and backstrap looms.   The beveled edge on one side can be used to press the weft into place.

Schacht Bobbin Winders
Schacht offers several styles of winders: manual and electric, single ended and double ended. The single ended bobbin winder has a tapered shaft that will accommodate bobbins up to six inches long.  It is available with the Schacht manual bobbin winder only.  Double ended winders can be used for longer bobbins, pirns, and spools.  They are available both in electric and manual models.  Both of our double-ended manual and electric winders are available with special tips for winding lace bobbins (see lace winders, below).  Conversion kits are available.
