Description
Bleached Tussah Silk Fiber
Wanting to try your hand at silk, but intimidated by cultivated silk? This is the perfect stepping stone in silk spinning. Not as fine or high luster as cultivated, but wonderful to spin and adds a shine to your fiber blends This fiber is from silk worms fed oak leaves. Naturally a tan brown, this fiber has been bleached to make it more suitable for blending and dyeing.
De-gummed and combed into a long sliver, about 1/2″ wide, ready for spinning or silk fusion projects.
Tussah silk is coarser and darker in color then Cultivated, and correspondingly it is also easier to spin and wears better.
