Lightweight handcarders with curved backs.
These carders are a joy to use! The tulip wood is lightweight but sturdy and the pins are fine and long.
In order to ensure a long life, the teeth on all Louet carders are made of high grade plated steel wire. Teeth are 3/8″ long.
Standard cloth – 46 teeth per square inch (tpi)
Fine cloth – 72 teeth per square inch (tpi)
Extra fine cloth (cotton carders) – 110 tpi
Standard are good for medium to coarse wools.
Fine are suitable for all wools.
Superfine work for medium to fine wools, alpaca, llama, angora, mohair, and blending fibers.
Backs and handles made of tulip wood, a Dutch Poplar variety. Carders measure 7.5″ x 4.”
